Ranitidine and Alcohol

Ranitidine (Zantac) and alcohol interactions can occur.

Before consuming alcohol during your treatment with ranitidine, consult your prescribing healthcare provider. There may be some instances where it is not safe to consume alcohol while also taking ranitidine.

Side Effects

Some forms of ranitidine contain a small amount of alcohol. Drinking while on this drug will likely enhance the effect of the alcohol.

Alcohol can increase stomach acid in the body, can cause ulcers, and can increase likelihood of heartburn.
