Diclofenac and alcohol interactions can occur.
Side Effects
Both alcohol and diclofenac (Flector, Cambia, Zorvolex) can cause gastrointestinal problems like bleeding. Other side effects might include:
- stomach ache,
- heartburn,
- black, tarry stool, or
- blood in the stool.
Interactions
Drinking alcohol while taking diclofenac can increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Similar to diclofenac alcohol can be hard on the kidneys and as a result may be important to not take both together.
