Clonidine for ADHD is an important treatment option because it has a calming effect, especially for children. That calming can help kids with hyperactivity, impulsivity, aggression, and sleep issues.

Clonidine releases the neurotransmitter norepinephrine into an area of the brain that controls executive functions, allowing for better focus.
