Dupixent does not cause physical dependence, so it does not cause withdrawal symptoms. However, patients with asthma who also have eczema should not stop or change their asthma treatments without first consulting with their doctors.

Furthermore, consumers should not stop using corticosteroids abruptly when they first start using Dupixent, as doing so may cause withdrawal symptoms associated with corticosteroid use. The withdrawal symptoms of corticosteroids – not Dupixent – include:

  • Vomiting
  • Anorexia
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Muscle pain
  • Lethargy
  • Dizziness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Weakness
  • Positional hypotension, which is low blood pressure that gets worse when the person stands up
