The rate at which people are receiving diabetes diagnoses is increasing worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.

How Many People Have this Condition?

Between 1980 and 2014, the number of people with diabetes worldwide rose from 108 million to 422 million. In the same time period, the percentage of adults with diabetes jumped from 4.7% to 8.5%.

Where are These Increases Occurring?

It’s reported that instances of diabetes are rising at higher rates in low- and middle-income countries.
