Clindamycin for sinus infection treatment can be incredibly effective if the infection is caused by bacteria, however not all bacteria are susceptible to clindamycin.

Dosage

According to Mayo Clinic, the typical dosage of clindamycin for adults with a sinus infection is between 150 to 300 mg every 6 hours. More severe infections may require 300 to 450 mg every 6 hours. For children weighing at least 10 kilograms (kg), the typical dose is between 8 and 16 mg per kg of body weight per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses.

Side Effects

A person taking clindamycin for a sinus infection may notice any of the common side effects of the medication. These side effects may be in addition to typical symptoms of a sinus infection, including cough, runny nose, or stuffy nose. Both sinus infections and clindamycin may also cause headaches.
