Mupirocin and Alcohol

While there are no reported significant interactions between mupirocin and alcohol (light drinking), excessive drinking could cause issues.

Side Effects

Most medications interact poorly with alcohol. At the very least, it often decreases the effectiveness of the drug. In some instances, drinking alcohol, especially in excess, enhances the side effects of the medication.

Interactions

Although there isn’t a specific interaction between mupirocin and alcohol, drinking in excess has the potential to cause problems with any medication. In addition, drinking can impair the function of immune cells, making it harder for the body to fight off other infections that can happen with any antibiotic like yeast or fungal.
