Sildenafil and alcohol can interact.

Side Effects

Taking sildenafil with alcohol is not recommended. Combining these two drugs may lead to symptoms such as:

  • lightheadedness,
  • dizziness,
  • headache,
  • flushing,
  • heart palpitations, and
  • fainting.

Sildenafil may lower blood pressure. When this drug is combined with alcohol (a chemical depressant containing ethanol), the blood pressure lowering effect may increase. This reaction is considered a moderate drug interaction.
