Keeping and increasing testosterone levels are essential for strength, muscle mass, and sexual and reproductive health. Researchers have found that cocoa and pomegranate extracts may help increase testosterone levels.

This study examined the effects of LN18178 on serum T-levels in young adults in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design.

A person with a low testosterone level may be able to raise their grades by eating specific foods, such as ginger, fatty fish, and some vegetables. Testosterone is a male sex hormone responsible for fertility, sexual function, bone health, and muscle development. 

It is usual for T-levels to decline by about 1 to 2 percent each year. Still, some factors can affect how much this hormone is present in the body, including medical conditions, lifestyle choices, etc.

Some medical treatments can increase low testosterone levels, particularly in younger men, but diet and lifestyle changes can also promote testosterone production.

Historically, pomegranates have been associated with fertility and sexual function, and their antioxidants may help reduce stress and promote heart health. 

Moreover, a 2012 study found that pomegranates could boost T-levels in both men and women. Researchers tested testosterone levels thrice a day in sixty healthy participants after drinking pure pomegranate juice for 14 days.

Male and female participants observed a 24 percent increase in salivary T-levels by the end of the study period. The experts also observed that mood and blood pressure improved for both genders.

LN18178 is a proprietary herbal blend containing Punica granatum fruit rind extracts (pomegranate) and Theobroma cocoa seeds.

Results of the Study

For fifty-six days, 120 male volunteers (ages 21-35) were randomly assigned to one of three groups. The primary efficacy measure of the study was an increase in serum testosterone. Each group (n = 40) received either 200 or 400 mg of LN18178 daily.

According to the Journal of Dietary Supplements, several significant improvements in upper arm circumference and hand grip strength were also observed after 56 days of herbal supplementation.

The experts performed vital signs and clinical chemistry tests to determine the product’s safety. There was a significant increase in free T-levels post-intervention with both doses of LN18178. 

Total testosterone and luteinizing hormone levels were significantly increased in the high-dose group.

Despite not showing significant changes in other hormones, the LN18178-400 group improved hand grip strength and upper arm circumference post-trial. In addition, participants’ hemato-biochemical parameters, urinalysis, and vital signs were all within normal limits.

Concurrently, these observations indicate that LN18178 is a secure and tolerable herbal blend; it boosts testosterone levels, muscle strength, and MUAC in young, healthy males.
